Pearl Izumi EM Road N2 Road Test
Posted by iRunLocal | Uncategorized
I’m not going to lie – I wasn’t sure what to expect when my first pair of Pearl Izumi shoes arrived. The Pearl Izumi EM Road N2 are the latest in the neutral mileage trainer series. This model features a low 4mm drop allowing your foot to feel the road beneath you. It’s difficult to miss the traditionally plush feel of a conventional running shoe when you slip on the N2. My first impression was “Wow – I love the larger toe box”. My number one issue with most running shoes is the way they scrunch my tooties together inducing a strain and sometime numbing sensation when running higher mileage. Toes like to be free – allowing each toe to help in the absorption of shock and spring you into the next step. The heel of this shoe feels more recessed than other trainer shoes – creating a snug and stable feel to the back of my foot. These shoes were light enough to allow for a spring-like ride and kept my body – and toes – happy the whole way. I must also point out the crazy bright colors of the EM Road N2. The bright neon yellow pops against the blue tones. Not only are these kicks great on the road, I like to strap these for a fashionable, casual, everyday look. Run Happy – Run LOCAL.
